Top 5 Zomcoms
When putting together a Top 5 or Top 10 Movie List (and in this case the sub-sub-horror genre Zomcom, or Zombie Comedy– dare I say, “Zomedy”), one must consider many factors.

Ahhhh, a truly contentious subject. I’m not going to argue and call you an idiot for including/not including some choices. All five of your choices are very worthy. But one that must be added (at least I’m assuming it was meant to be funny, you can never tell with these movies), is Wild Zero. A crazy japanese aliens/zombies/hermaphrodite/rock movie. It stars the rock band Guitar Wolf and truly has to be seen to be believed.
One zombie night, we had a fantastic double bill, we watched Wild Zero and then headed to Lee’s Palace to see Guitar Wolf. A double bill probably never ever to be re-created, as one of the members of Guitar Wolf keeled over dead a month or so later. Zombies are not believed to be involved.

Yes, Rob– I will forever regret that I didn’t attend the “Guitar Wolf” live concert after the “Wild Zero” screening. And when I found out one of the members of Guitar Wolf — (wasn’t it Guitar Wolf himself??!!) died, as every good rock-star should, well before his time– I actually attempted to dislocate my right knee so that I could KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS– HARD!
“Guitar Wolf”– a Japanese aliens/zombies/hermaphrodite/rock– (listen up: zombie fans)– is well worth a viewing! I do believe we laughed our holes out over that one.

I’m a big fan of Severance - if only for the bear trap scene. Who would have thought it possible to be laughing your ass off as some poor schmuck has his leg pulverized over, and over, and over, and over… I thought the scene was great because it starts out by putting the viewer in intense pain (audience members were exclaiming their shock out loud and averting their eyes), then slowly desensitizes them, until at the end it’s been pushed beyond the point of ridiculous and everyone is busting a gut laughing.
I’m not sure if it technically qualifies as a “Zombie” movie, nonetheless, I think it has one of the best gore scenes ever.
